Steep Drops Like Russell Fork Stateline Falls
The Watauga Gorge - Buford

Duck in Stateline Falls

Class 5 - 6 6 miles Spring, Winter, and After Thunderstorms

The Watauga is the crown jewel of the east's most difficult rivers! If you liked the Russell Fork and still want more, try the Watauga in northwestern North Carolina.

For 6 miles the Watauga snakes through a steep, narrow gorge of continuous whitewater dropping at a 180' per mile gradient! The river literally drops out of sight at the rapids like "Hydro" (5-6), "State line Falls" ( 17 foot, 5-6), and "Ten Foot Falls" (5).

This breath taking river trip, with continuous series of boulder-garden rapids and punctuated by large, blind drops, is one you will always remember!

Russell Fork or Upper Yough experience is needed!

Due to travel distance and danger, the price is $150 per person. A second trip on the same day is $100. All river gear is included.

Let our expert guides and Avon self - bailing rafts be the tools through which you too can experience an adventure of a lifetime!

For this X-treme trip I will screen people for experience and ability! You must book this trip with me -- Buford Davis -- not the secretaries at the 800 number.
